Administration/Executive Assistant

 

 

The role is responsible for the prompt, courteous and professional delivery of  information  as  this role may be  the first point of contact for clients with the organization . This role also carries out duties associated with the on- line management of clients bookings and activities. Management of the companies Web page and social media outlets are also a responsibility of this position.

 

The right applicant will have:

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to learn and use other industry related software Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively to people with disability and their carers Time management skills
  • Ability to work in a flexible, multi-tasking environment
  • Formal qualification in community or human services discipline and experience in providing community services in a Not-for-Profit environment will be highly regarded.

Volunteering

Volunteering is a challenging and rewarding element of being involved with a not-for-profit organisation.

Becoming a volunteer gives people the opportunity to make friends, to learn new skills and to be involved in the planning of St George Community Transport.

 

We are always keen to talk to reliable, caring, responsible people who are interested in giving back to the communities in which they live.

 


 

 

Volunteer Positions & Opportunities

Volunteer Travel Trainer

 

Volunteer Travel Trainers provide support to eligible community members on how to travel safely and access public transport information with confidence. Individuals supported may include seniors, people with disability, people with limited mobility and people who are culturally and linguistically diverse.

 

This role includes supporting the person with:

  • Trip planning and information
  • Transport training sessions
  • Practise using public transport
  • Assistance to develop strategies to use during their trip.

Volunteer Drivers

 

Volunteer drivers transport our clients to & from medical/ social appointments and much more. The STGCT fleet ranges from sedans to buses so we can match a vehicle to suit your licence class. This role requires:

  • A full NSW drivers licence (sorry due to insurance we cannot accept P class licence holders for this position)
  • Ongoing Drivers Licence Checks (DLC), for all drivers, conducted by STGCT, as part of its ongoing duty of care responsibilities

Volunteer Carer

 

Volunteer Carers work closely with the drivers to provide our clients with a safe supportive and comfortable transport experience, this includes:

  • Supporting clients to access and exit the vehicle safely
  • Providing companionship and conversation to clients during transportation or whilst on social outings
  • assisting the driver to load walkers and shopping bags into the vehicle

Volunteer Administrative Support

 

This volunteer position provides administrative support to the Team in the office.

 

Volunteer Applicants who best meet the requirements of the position will be welcomed to the St George Community Transport Volunteer Programme. All successful volunteers will receive orientation/ induction and ongoing support in the role.

 

NB: All volunteers and staff of St George Community Transport are required to have a current Working with Children and National Police Check or be willing to submit your details for one to be conducted.
